Lynch opera
I received the following mail a few weeks ago and I forgot to post it:
I know from your blog that you are as much a Lynch fan as I am, so I thought
you'd be interested in this: _Lost Highway_ has been made into an OPERA by
composer Olga Neuwirth and author Elfriede Jelinek (_The Piano Teacher_).

I find myself getting sick of Lynch, as his career becomes about rehashing the same themes in progressively more impenetrable, and unnecessarily frustrating, ways.
I hated Lost Highway when I saw it, probably because I viewed it on a TV set, and since the movie is so unbearably dark, all I could see was glare the entire time, while trying to make out terribly under-lit black and orange-tinted images.
That said, I think a Lost Highway opera would be pretty hilarious.
Seen it. It had moments. The best line: "I don't think that's a good idea, Mr. Eddie."
